Bass
Bass shoes were founded in the 1870s when George Henry Bass, the owner of a tannery in Wilton, Maine started a career in shoemaking after purchasing the shares of E.P. Packard & Co, a local shoe manufacturer, changing the name of the company to G.H. Bass & Co. Today, Bass’s basic policies remain unchanged – they believe in using quality leather and strive to build the best possible shoe for the intended purpose through thorough workmanship, the foundation of good shoemaking.
